Who Are We?

New Beginnings Community Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation that has been formed to help adults with mental illness achieve a more independent and qualitative lifestyle. Our purpose is to enhance the lives of these adults by promoting their self-sufficiency.

Some of our activities for persons with mental disabilities include: the development and operation of group residences, vocational services, psychological services, community services and supportive employment.

We Believe

In treating the individual rather than the mental illness.
In skill training and development that focuses on strengths rather than approaches that focus on problems and weaknesses.

That a stable, supportive environment and productive life style promotes natural healing.
People experiencing mental health problems are able to overcome dependency and are able to form and develop healthy adult relationships.

That stable work performance is preferable to episodic periods of high achievement.
That most people experiencing mental illness are capable of achieving stable work which provides three essentials of self-esteem:

· Identity
· Dignity
· Income

How Can We Help?

By providing safe, affordable, secure housing that is drug, alcohol, and violence free.

By providing a team of caring staff who interact with the consumers daily and are committed to their well being.

By helping the consumers locate and maintain a job (or volunteer work) that fits his/her needs.

By providing life skills training.

By providing an art enhancement program that helps the consumer identify him/herself as someone other than a person who has a disability and to improve his/her sense of self worth and esteem.
